Feature Friday: Jerome Artworks

Feature Friday highlights businesses, people, fashion, and basically anything under the sun!

jerome-artworksFeature Friday was born for the purpose of showcasing Ozamiz businesses and Ozamiz talents.  In my quest to feature worthy ones, I had come across with a budding artist who happens to be my MUHS co-teacher’s cousin and my colleague in Medina College.  So guys, may I have the honor to introduce to you, Mr. Jerome Lañohan Lirasan.

Jerome is a native Ozamiznon born on August 27, 1988.  He came from a family of photographers who owned Jimrose Studio during the 90’s.  As a young boy, his parents taught him how to use the manual camera.  He found it very hard to do and he also witnessed how tough his parents’ job is so he swore to himself that he’ll never ever be a photographer.

But as he was taking up his BS in Computer Science degree in Medina College, someone hired him to do some Post Process on a picture.  He was amazed by the outcome and realized that he want to make more photos like that.  Thus, he ate his own word.  He then started taking photos, mostly portraits of people.

Right after graduation, he was hired at Medina College as a Graphic Artist.  And this inspired him  to focus more on photography.  Surprisingly, people started to discover his talents and hired him for some photo ops.  So as a sideline business, he engaged into pre-nuptial photography and here are samples of his photos:

From word of mouth, he eventually had the chance to cover an actual wedding day!  And this is not just photography.  Jerome also teamed up with his brothers, Jerson and James for videography and this became the start of Jerome Artworks.

As a newbie to the business world, Jerome does not see photography as a means to amass fortune.  He sees photography differently as he quipped, “As I embrace this type of career, I find out more of life and the beauty of it.  I like photography because it enables me to show my talent and skills.  Capturing every emotion and precious moment, showing what’s behind every photo, and showing this to the world is what makes me more motivated and devoted to this career.  I love photography, it is now my life, and I start living it!”

7K Photography and Videography is now open to the public!  This package includes

Mary Rosalie Olandesca, a lover of the arts, humanities, and social sciences, found herself entangled in the realm of applied science and engineering, a path that didn't align with her true passions. Determined to break free from her "chemical engineer" title in the Philippines, she embarked on a brave journey to Toronto, fitting her life in only two suitcases. Despite completing her Chemical Laboratory Technician program at Seneca Polytechnic just recently, she realized that the chemical world failed to ignite her heart. A momentous realization led her to embrace her true calling as a writer, with a Creative Writing course acting as the catalyst for her long-time passion in wordsmithing. Thus emerged the extraordinary persona of Mae, the other side of her multifaceted identity.
