The moment of writing this, I’m actually standing up at 12:16 AM (onwards) for I’m still so full from the pig-out dinner me and my friends had for Ruth’s birthday at Big Catch! Like, ah! What a cheat Saturday night dinner that was! I’m still on a diet from summer vacation’s indulgence but I’d die if I won’t taste all of the Big Catch bounty!
For starters, they have homey soup and tasty appetizers.
For the main course and stars of the catch, they have crabs, prawns, mussels, and shrimps in 3 different sauces of your choice namely Garlic Butter, Hot Garlic Sauce, and Big Catch Special Sauce. The great thing here is, you can also vary the intensity of the hotness of the sauce from non-spicy, mild, to spicy but I’d prefer it to be super dooper spicy (you may whisper to the waiter and request for this one too, hehe…..). Garlic Butter is really oily as it is “butter”, Hot Garlic Sauce is sweet, sour, and spicy but not too garlicky as the Garlic Butter, and Big Catch Special Sauce has curry and hints of paprika and oregano (as far as my taste buds could decipher and if I’m not mistaken) that I love the most!
And if you’re checking-in the place for merienda, they also have light pasta snacks that are also seafood-based.

As a pasta lover, I love both and could eat ’em both in one setting when gluttony strikes!
But they don’t have any dessert in their menu so we just brought our cake for the birthday girl. It’s corkage-free (by the way) and they’re also generous to lend you a knife, small plates, and forks for the sweets.

From a distance with love: Thank you so much, Ruth for the generosity and friendship for over 18 years! Oh, God! We’re really getting older! Stay pretty, sexy, and happy! More blessings to come and love love love, chog! 🙂
And just like Cebu’s Bucket Shrimps, dining at Big Catch is cowboy-style where you can just be yourself eating with your bare hands. They also serve unlimited rice that’s way too much for the temptation of eating more than your tummy can accommodate. Hehe…..

So there’s no need to travel far and long to Cebu or CDO for Redtail Shrimps and More anymore (Rhyme or redundancy? English grammar please….) for we already have the catch here in the big OZ! Congratulations and thank you to the Tang family for bringing in another fun dining experience to our city! 🙂
